Welcoming 2025: Growth, Setbacks, and New Opportunities

I started this blog and my YouTube channel last year, and it has now been a full year. Truthfully, it has not yet done what I hoped it would, but I take full responsibility for that. The old me would have seen this setback as a wall and turned back. The new me sees it as an opportunity, a challenge to climb.

In life, things do not always go the way you plan. I let the tides of life carry me away from my passion and the future I had imagined. I let setbacks slow me down in my ambitions and goals. But even through all of this, I feel blessed. This journey has given me new skills, and it has given me cherished time with my family.

Now, I am welcoming 2025 with open arms, ready for it to eclipse 2024 and surprise me with new lessons. I no longer make New Year’s resolutions, because I believe the focus should be on living each day as it comes. Being present allows us to appreciate the most important things that are already within our reach.

Last year, I experienced tough losses at critical times. I needed time to move through those losses, but this year I am approaching life differently. Not writing or creating on YouTube left me feeling incomplete, but I did not spend that time idle. I began working a nine-to-five job with my own time and schedule. I also started another business based on a lifelong hobby that I have always loved, and now I am fully embracing it. With discipline, effort, and a bit of luck, I hope to turn this hobby into a thriving business, and I am taking my kids along on the journey, giving them a chance to grow curious about biology.

It is all starting to come together, and I believe that writing and YouTube are the missing pieces. Every project I am working on feeds into that creative outlet. My new business is focused on breeding aquarium fish, including guppies, bettas, and cory catfish, and selling them for profit. I plan to write a full blog post about this soon.

This hobby has brought an incredible amount of positivity into my life. It is something my kids and I do together, and it teaches them valuable lessons about life, mortality, discipline, and responsibility.
